PRERREQUISITES
The student must be familiarized with HTML. Previous knowledge on formal logic is also necessary. Knowledge about XML is recommended but not mandatory.
GENERAL SUBJECT DESCRIPTION
The subject presents an overview of several advanced Web technologies. Most of the course is devoted to key technologies related to the Web 2.0 and the Semantic Web (sometimes called Web 3.0). Web accessibility is also covered in this subject.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of the course is that the student learns the main concepts involved in the different technologies that will be presented in the course and that she/he could be able to develop small applications using such technologies.
LEARNING MATERIAL
The course is organized in 6 modules (see syllabus). For each module, a project is available. The project descibes the objectives of that particular module, the material the student should read and one or several exercises the student should solve. Together with the project, lecture notes are provided that describe the concepts that should be learnt in that module.
