Departamento de Informática.
Subject Area: Automated planning
Course at Máster de Ciencia y Tecnología Informática
Lecture hours: 28
Learning total time: 150 hours
PRERREQUISITES AND RECOMMENDED PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE
Basic knowledge on Artificial Intelligence, data structures and programming.
GENERAL COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course on Automated planning introduces the Artificial Intelligence approach to the planning task. Automated planning is a computational task that, given a domain description (in terms of available actions), an initial state and a set of goals, generates a plan that allows to achieve the goals from the initial state by executing the plan actions.
OBJETIVES: KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- To analyze problem solving state-of-the-art automated techniques
- To characterize every technique as well as the domains they suit better
- To get in use with tools that implement every technique discussed so far for solving specific problems
- To identify different open issues for the research in the area and to promote the realization and completion of new PhDs
You will find here the slides used in the course at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
This is an applied course, so the goal is that the student uses several planning tools to fullfill the homeworks.
